A plain read on where your product stands in Japan
Before spending on entry, it helps to know how a segment actually looks today — who's already there, what they charge, and what standing next to them would require.
Back to homeWhat this assessment gives you
A written account of how your product is likely to be received in a specific Japanese segment — grounded in the competitors already selling there, the price levels they hold, and the distribution and certification questions that would apply to you. Where the picture suggests the segment isn't ready for entry yet, the report says so directly, so the decision to wait is as informed as the decision to proceed.
Entering without knowing the ground first
It's a common position: a product that performs well elsewhere, and a genuine uncertainty about whether Japan is a fit, at what price, and against whom. Guessing at this stage is expensive to correct later, once distribution agreements or registrations are already in motion. This assessment exists for that specific gap in knowledge, before anything else is committed.
How the assessment is built
We review the competitors already present in your segment, the price points they hold in the market, and the distribution routes they use to reach customers. Alongside that, we note the certification or labelling obligations that would apply to a product like yours, so the regulatory picture is visible from the start rather than discovered partway through a launch.
What the four weeks look like
After an initial exchange to confirm your product and target segment, the review runs largely on our side, drawing on published pricing, distribution listings, and relevant regulatory text. You'll hear from us if something in the early findings changes the shape of the assessment, rather than only at the very end.
¥29,500 for the full assessment
This covers the complete four-week engagement: the written report, the competitor table with observed price points, and the note on regulatory checks worth completing first. There are no additional fees folded in later.
How the findings are measured
The assessment is built from what can actually be observed in the market — listed prices, visible competitors, published regulatory text — rather than from an industry-wide template applied regardless of category. Expect a report scoped to your specific segment, not a general overview of the Japanese market.
A no-obligation first conversation
Before the engagement begins, we'll confirm scope and price in writing, and you're free to decide not to proceed at that stage without any cost. If the completed report turns out not to match what was agreed in scope, we'll work with you to put it right.
